Kai Kai caught a cold...
Baby kai kai has caught a cold some days ago, possibly due to a contagious virus carried by my father-in-law (who is recovering well).
Initially we didnt think much of it, as he only showed the occasion symptom of sneezing. But when he started coughing, we became worried. His coughing soon came with some phlegm and mucus flowed from his nose.
But somehow, through all of these, Kai kai remained cheerful and energetic as usual. So much so that Ping thought we might wait a little longer to see if he gets better himself.
Being the more kan-cheong parent (I'd admit anyday, that I am more kan cheong than my wife... possibly also more kiasu), I made the decision to pay a visit to the PD this morning.
The visit was fruitful, as the PD confirmed it was a viral infection and that Kai could be suffering from nose block as well as sore throat (who would've guess, from the way he still laughed when he's happy, and screamed when he's unhappy).
Our poor baby!
We came back armed with 4 types of medication for him - 2 for his runny nose, 1 for his cough/sore throat, and another was a medicated cream for his skin rashes (another "inheritance" from me - sensitive skin with mild ezema. Sigh... ).
After giving him the required medicine, I'm glad to see him getting a little better already. His breathing seems more clear, and though he still coughs sometimes, I think the frequency has somehow lessened (may be my own perception).
He is now getting more time to try out sitting on his own! Well, okie... with the help of the Bugaboo.. ops, Bumbo chair. :P
